Launching the fourth series of Notion’s “Pain of Scale” podcast

With Notion's Stephen Millard.

All the episodes in this series were recorded prior to the pandemic. Founders of fast-growth tech companies face many challenges, they have to learn fast, whilst constantly moving out of their comfort zone, adapting and growing. Notion Capital has been investing in SaaS founders since 2009 so it’s fair to say we’ve seen a few of those challenges play out. But not on the scale that we have seen over the last few months. We are all on an accelerated learning curve and humans are resilient, adaptable and resourceful. Founders in particular demonstrate these qualities, so will find a way through. We all need to keep moving forward, keep taking risks and continue to reflect and learn as we adapt to our new reality.

I believe that we need to commit to learning from the past, whilst embracing different perspectives and experiences, as well as continuing to learn from our own actions - individual and collective - to ensure we are able to adapt to what the world throws at us.

This series is part of our commitment to learn, synthesise and share knowledge. We will be sharing two podcasts per week during June as we are also in the process of creating a one off series based upon the far more recent experiences. We did consider not publishing the episodes, but when we listened again it was clear that, while the context had changed, much of the content was still highly relevant.

We hope you enjoy the new episodes.

NB you can find all the previous 50+ episodes here - https://notion.vc/resources/filter/type/podcasts/ and the first of our new series with Tae Hea Nahm from Storm Ventures.
