SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON, UK, October 1st, 2014 – Wercker (www.wercker.com) the cloud-based continuous delivery platform used by developers around the world, today announced that it has raised $2.4m in funding led by Notion Capital with participation from Tola Capital.

The new funding will be used for further international expansion and continued development of the wercker platform. Existing investors Vitulum Ventures, Shamrock Ventures and Rockstart Accelerator also invested in the round.

Wercker provides a continuous delivery platform that helps developersreduce risk and eliminate waste by testing and deploying their code often. Created on the principle that developers want to focus on building their applications, not on operations and servers, wercker enables a new level of developer efficiency, which is a key competitive advantage for any industry. Wercker allows developers to iterate quickly through a continuous delivery pipeline, thus building and deploying their applications at a rapid pace with confidence.

Wercker is part of the bigger containerization movement that has taken the developer world by storm. Software containers allow for truly portable and isolated application bundles that can run anywhere.

Through wercker’s API, developers can create and use their own containers alongside custom build and deploy pipelines. Wercker also integrates with popular version control providers, such as GitHub and Bitbucket.

“Wercker’s uptake has been amazing and we’re excited to be building an integrated automation environment to give developers the tools they need to produce and deploy their code with confidence and ease. The new funding and expertise that Notion brings us will help us expand and create new features to meet the growing demand,” said Micha Hernández van Leuffen, founder and CEO of wercker.

“As we only invest in cloud technology businesses we understand the constant demand for speed and efficiency put on development teams. Wercker not only accelerates deployment but also allows globally distributed developer teams to work together transparently and confidently,” said Chris Tottman, Partner at Notion Capital. “We look forward to supporting wercker’s growth and exciting future.”

Wercker recently announced the appointment of Andy Smith, formerly a co-founder of OpenStack, as its Chief Technology Officer (http://blog.wercker.com/2014/09/08/Making-it-better.html). Wercker now has offices in Amsterdam and San Francisco. Previously, wercker won both the Salesforce Innovation Challenge and the GigaOM Structure:Europe Launchpad competition, taking home both the People’s Choice and Judge’s awards.
